I am trying to use Windows Media Player 10 with the software and it is not working.

If you have Windows Media Player 10 installed on your computer, you may experience some difficulty using the software. You may correct the issue immediately by uninstalling the player. SpeaK! doesn't detect that my computer is connected to the internet (I can't register, or I can't import stories, etc.).

Open Internet Explorer, go to menu Options, select tab Connections, click on button Lan settings.
In the panel Automatic configuration, you should make sure that the option Automatically detect settings is not selected.

I have Microsoft Windows NT. When I try to install SpeaK!, the setup displays a message "Not enough free space" and then aborts.

Go to DOS and type SET. See if TEMP is set as an environment variable. If TEMP is set, then see where TEMP is set to, and make sure that the location exists (i.e. if it does not exist, manually create this folder).

As soon as I start the installation, I get the error message "Error -1607: Unable to Install InstallShield Scripting Run Time".

This is an Installshield known issue. Please navigate to this page to solve it.
